Kakao Healthcare said it has agreed with global health technology company Sky Labs to supply the ring-type continuous blood pressure monitor “CART BP” and collaborate on digital healthcare services.
The partnership aims to combine Kakao Healthcare’s mobile and AI capabilities with Sky Labs’ expertise in biometric signal monitoring to deliver innovative, user-centered digital health solutions.
The companies first signed an MoU in May 2022 for mobile-based chronic disease management. The new agreement expands the collaboration to include the supply and distribution of CART BP, the launch of digital healthcare services using continuous blood pressure data, and joint development of related technologies.
Starting in December, Kakao Healthcare plans to introduce a new blood pressure management service within its AI-driven mobile health management platform “PASTA.”
The service will connect with CART BP to track users’ real-time blood pressure fluctuations, accounting for daily lifestyle factors such as diet and physical activity. It will also provide tailored guidance to help hypertensive patients improve their habits and manage their condition independently.
By adding blood pressure to its existing health categories—blood glucose, obesity, and sleep —the PASTA app is expected to evolve into an all-in-one solution for comprehensive chronic disease management. Kakao Healthcare said it will continue to enhance its digital health ecosystem to make daily health monitoring more accessible, systematic, and personalized for patients.
Both companies will also work to expand the adoption of CART BP, which received medical device approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and began official consumer sales in September.
Sky Labs is currently seeking reimbursement and regulatory approvals in major European markets.
The partners plan to promote the device and connected health services to individual users, corporations, and pharmacies primarily through online channels, while also developing integrated insurance-linked offerings to improve patient accessibility.
“Our collaboration with Kakao Healthcare broadens access to effective digital healthcare services,” Sky Labs CEO Lee Byung-hwan said. “We aim to develop solutions that support daily health management for people with chronic diseases.”
Kakao Healthcare CEO Hwang Hee said, “Hypertension demands lifestyle changes beyond hospital care.”
By connecting CART BP with PASTA, we help patients stay motivated to improve daily habits for better long-term health, Hwang added.
